About

Hey theređź‘‹

I'm Sanjay, a software engineer from Coimbatore, India (based in Chennai). You can find me as @sanjaymaniam on most platforms.

I currently work as a Member of Technical Staff 3 (UEM R&D) at Omnissa, a spinoff of VMware's End-User Computing division. I'm part of a specialized team focused on addressing cross-cutting concerns in our .NET platform, analyzing and implementing solutions that impact multiple product teams and coordinating efforts across different engineering groups.

Previously, I worked at Zoho for over 3 years as a Member of Technical Staff, where I contributed to Zoho Mail and served as the module owner for Zoho Streams in Trident, a one-stop workplace companion desktop app. During my time there, I implemented a major re-architecture to support deep integrations with Zoho's offerings, applying Clean Architecture and dependency injection principles.

I hold a Bachelor of Technology in Mechatronics, Robotics, and Automation Engineering from Manipal Institute of Technology (2017-2021). During my time there, I was part of Project MANAS, Manipal's official AI and Robotics team, where we won second place at the Intelligent Ground Vehicle Competition 2018 in Michigan. I worked on the Sensing and Automation division, interfacing and calibrating quadrature wheel encoders and implementing I2C, SPI, and UART protocols.

I've also interned as a Plant Automations Intern at Dubai Cable Company (Ducab) in Abu Dhabi, where I built a Siemens S7-300 PLC-based alarm system for a cable insulation line.

When I'm not coding, you can catch me running, playing badminton, lifting weights, or enjoying a (hopefully) good movie. Recently, I've also developed an interest in self-hosting software on a home server.

I'm a big fan of AR Rahman's music.
